ORLANDO (Aug. 9, 2016) — Dr. John C. Carrozzella, founder of the Florida Center for Hormones & Wellness, on Aug. 6 was awarded a master’s degree in metabolic and nutritional medicine from the University of South Florida.
Dr. Carrozzella was a practicing orthopaedic surgeon for more than 25 years before he refocused his practice to serve the needs of patients with hormonal deficiencies, sexual dysfunction, nutritional imbalances, autoimmune disorders and a variety of cosmetic needs, including Botox®. Since changing his practice, he has been committed to continuously learning about those areas. Prior to earning the master’s degree, he became an advanced fellow of and earned a certificate in in sexual medicine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Aesthetic Medicine; joined the International Society for Sexual Medicine and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health. He also earned a certificate in metabolic endocrinology from USF.
Additionally, he is an expert in Platelet Rich Plasma procedures and is a certified practitioner of the Vampire Facelift®, Vampire Breast Lift®, the O-Shot® and Priapus Shot®.
“Coming out of a surgical specialty and totally re-orienting my practice, I felt like it was important to re-credential myself. It allows me to be very nimble and qualified to treat these issues,” Dr. Carrozzella said. “Most importantly, it enables me to provide the best and highest-quality care available for my patients.”
Dr. Carrozzella graduated from Yale University in 1978 with honors in Molecular Bio-physics and Biochemistry. He earned his M.D. in 1982 from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he placed in the top 5 percent of his class and was selected as the No. 1 choice for the University of Cincinnati Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery.
In 2015, he opened the Florida Center for Hormones & Wellness in the Windermere/Bay Hill/Dr. Phillips section of Orlando.
